Introduction

A umbrella brand name has to be simple, easy to reproduce at low costs, clean in it’s statement and be memorable. Spreadshirt delievers your custom clothes in a few days. Think - Print - Wear! My logo has reduced down this simple action to the logo with it’s indicated bubble for thinking and the magenta point for printing.

The Logo

Logo
The Logo itself is simple and flexible to use. It consists of 2 colours (Black/Magenta). The claim has been shortened for more memorability. The design element symbolizes “think” (with the indicated bubble) and “print” (with the indicated print-dot in magenta).

The Logo Types

Logo Types
The designelement gives flexible possibilities to transport the corporate design. Use Text-Bubbles, Image-Bubbles or accentuate the headlines. It is a design element!

The Logo Types for Bitmap or Negative-Reproduction

The Logo Types for Bitmap or Negative-Reproduction
The Logo has been produced as a clean vector-file to give freedom to your design-needs. Usable as a FAX, Bitmap, Handy-Logo etc.

Print Products

Print Products
Printproducts must be reproducible at low costs with few colours. In very small sizes it is better to use the specific Pantone/HKS-Colour for a good print-quality in grey-scale.

    thats professionell, veratile, coherent.
personally i don’t like the font, so it does not ignite any fire.

    very nice!!!

This is the best logo so far! You can communicate the design in every imaginable position/color/format. Really great work! lak said right: professionell, veratile, coherent. The line under the logo shows the fast delievery. It’s getting better an better the more I watch it :)

yes. absolutly the best work for spreadshirt.

Really good idea – you already thought abour corporate design and applications. The logo fits good.

My favorite logo. Well thought out logo which builds the basis for the whole corporate id. Solid, memorable and highly usable - take it :)

  7. 7 by danny | Jan 5th, 2006 at 8:55 am

Well you really did good with your submission. So far this is actually the first and only complete work which matches all requirements.

The text-logo was cleverly designed, using a slogan to match with the graphics part. I’m also impressed how generally the think/print-indicator is useable for any other purposes while always having spreadshirt and its slogan in the back of one’s mind.
There’s one (minor?) detail which bugs me though. The magenta-bordered shirt doesn’t mesh well with the logo-part, I think it got to do with the different angles of the think-indicator and the shirt. I’m only talking about the one subtitled “flexible design”, not the parts printed on shirts as they look fine because of different sizing.

But that detail doesn’t impact on the rating much. You get a 4.5 / 5 stars from me (naturally rounded up to 5).

A lot of work and creativity flowed in the workout of the media purposes. Respect!
I have some suggestions to improve your work and make it top! Try to use another font. The used one is very neutral and uncharacteristic. Maybe a sharp edged font is better - brings more power in it. Now it´s too rounded and “harmless”.
The color combination gray magenta is often seen and not so fresh - spreadshirt is young - choose a younger color combination with more energy.
    Some tweakings and …. perfect!

So far the best complete workout. Good luck!

  10. 10 by eva | Jan 5th, 2006 at 12:22 pm

looks great! but nettrooper’s got it all right, here. color and font should be reconsidered.

  11. 11 by getimo | Jan 5th, 2006 at 6:08 pm

Thank you for your feedback! My reason for choosing the colour magenta: Magenta is a pure printing-colour which has a big signal-character. The font has been chosen (1.) cause of the same character like the design element (rounded corners) and (2.) cause of the small heights of the letters p,d,h,t. The letters have been modified mnaually to get the word “spreadshirt” as close to the design element as possible.

My appendix to the design element: It symbolizes the straightforward delivery after the action: think-print.

    greets and have fun ;)

    Hi getimo,

I think you created a marvellous simple design which also appears timeless. I admit the magenta looked a bit weird to me in the beginning, but actually it generates a fresh style. The combination of black, grey and this striking magenta is perhaps just a question of getting used to it ;)

    7 points (1-10)

awesome! In my opinion this is a very nice logo. Simple, but yet interesting and easy to remember. It’s also good to see some variations and examples of applications on how this logo might be used. I also agree that the font doesnt quite work 100%, but i think its going the right direction :)

  14. 14 by qé | Jan 6th, 2006 at 3:45 pm

Very, very nice. Extraordinary mixture of colors but
that’s the reason why people will be recognize and remember this logo!

    Good work!

i actually like the idea and the concept as well, although i think this draft comes a little cool/unemotional ..

  18. 18 by Steve | Jan 7th, 2006 at 3:43 pm

good work, but the font looks like the font called “comic”.
hmm, isn’t an “eye-catcher” for me, that means I miss something “flippy”

  19. 19 by getimo | Jan 10th, 2006 at 1:13 pm

Thank you for your feedback. But it will be hard to change the font. I’m concerned about evers little thing. So I can’t change the font - it’s not as simple as that!

I’m going to produce another logo. I think that spreadshirt can easily modify the logo to fit their needs.

Thank you for the comments :)

  20. 20 by david | Jan 10th, 2006 at 1:22 pm

I’m surprised how flexible this logo is! I found this entry only through the “latest comments” function. This is one of the few good looking and coherent logos on this site. The only thing is, that the lines in black and magenta should always have the same proportion. Except for this it’s a great logo which does work! Design with function - good! :)

  25. 25 by wanata | Jan 11th, 2006 at 1:58 pm

    hi getimo

Your logo is very convincing. I`m impressed of the design element because it is simple, but eyecatching. I just read the requirements of Spreadshirt and I noticed that your logo shows perfectly their ideas.
seriousness, honesty and quality: straight form
promptitude: considering the design element to be a flash
freshness and a bit of tongue-in-cheek: point-dot in magenta and the bubble elements
internationality: lower case letters, no confusing ornamentations
flexibility: usable in smaller presentations, in positive and negative and single colour reproduction. And it`s applicable in every imaginable format and position.

As Spreadshirt required a text logo, I would omit the logo with the shirt. In my opinion it`s not essential.

All in all: my compliment, it`s my favorite!

    hi getimo,

I really do appreciate your intelligent logo. I know it is hard work to make something look simple AND convincing. The edged grafic and the rounded font make the whole thing dynamic. Respect!

This is the best logo i’ve seen so far in this contest. It’s very versatile and well to be recognized. I think it fits the requirements perfectly! My favorite!

  30. 30 by elwood | Jan 16th, 2006 at 11:25 pm

seems like i have an odd taste… i don’t know exactly why (maybe the rating is too high - damn competitives ;) ), but i can not make friends with this submission at all…
maybe it’s the maganta-grey combination, could also be the rounded font.

  31. 31 by bertram | Jan 18th, 2006 at 1:12 pm

I viewed all submissions . but I think this is the only one which fits the briefing requirements. The line with the bubble-character + the magenta point is a really simple but great idea. Fits very good to “think it - print it”. Well enough words, take that logo…

  32. 32 by spreadshirt-shopper | Jan 29th, 2006 at 9:11 pm

Hey, I visited the “gallery by time” and found that entry. I really like this logo. It’s professional and it’s easy to put onto every spreadshirt-shop.

    Jesus, I can’t write English ;) I like this logo…

  33. 33 by david luci | Jan 30th, 2006 at 1:44 am

the grey could be a little bit darker. but it’s a really straight to the point logo. very flexible - i could imagine many situations to use your “design element” apart of your suggestions.

    good work…

  34. 34 by spreadshirt-shopper | Jan 30th, 2006 at 1:56 am

I really like this enrty! I already said in the other entry: I would take the design if spreadshirt doesn’t want it ;)

    elwood: totally with you.

i don’t get all the fuzz about that submission.

    no personal offense, but honestly:

    - i’m pretty sure i’ve seen *several* similar ones on other occasions already.

    - i don’t like the magenta (okay, this is my personal taste and it could easily be replaced)

    - i don’t like the font at all

    - the overall impression doesn’t make me think of stylish clothes.

    just my two cents.

Well, after visiting your website I understand… ;) Joke!! :)

Well, I never saw this bubble-dot theme before. And the biggest point for me: no other entry does fit all requirements of the briefing so straight - this makes it more professional in my view. There is a designer who knows what he does…

Aha, this is one of the pofessionals. It’s timeless and seems to be a bif company which is friendly at the first view. The line under “spreadshirt” is defines what spreadshirt does - nice.

PS: The vote function here is really bad! Doesn’t work here in Opera. Maybe that I didn’t vote correctly (5 stars)…

  47. 47 by dennis | Feb 3rd, 2006 at 2:22 am

well, I would recognize this logo every time i would see it again. the next thing (important for me) is, that I can see a strong idea which is expressed in a very simple way. alway when i watch logos from big companies I understand why the logo must be clean and simple. it must be scalable in it’s expression for the FUTURE.

this is my very personal opinion.

  48. 48 by sabrina | Feb 4th, 2006 at 8:31 pm

Hello, I like this logo! Don’t know why there others don’t like it :) Because of the pink? ;)

Ilike this logo cause it look professional in my view. I could imagine a good CI for this design.

  49. 49 by audioinfo.de | Feb 6th, 2006 at 12:52 pm

The grey and the magenta is a nice colour-combination which can be used for trendwhoring or for a professional design. It is difficult to build a whole corporate design only with too colours. So,this entry is my favourite one because it has been put into practice. In my opinion this one is one of the few entries which can be used for a whole corporate design and fits all requirements. Go on like this!

  50. 50 by SüDKOMFORT ))) | Feb 6th, 2006 at 9:11 pm

    Hey getimo,

you gave a really good draft for spreadshirt. I think you submission has a good chance. The only thing I would change is the claim.

“think it - print it” doesn’t show the customer that he doesn’t have to care about the printing. “YOU think it - WE print it” shows the customer what service he can exspect. The rest has a big potential for a whole corporate design!

    Very nice :)

  51. 51 by lade73 | Feb 6th, 2006 at 10:42 pm

I do this for a living, and i must agree with the majority here. very well executed idea, according to the brief. Strong, corporate and quality. if i must pick on something, (and i must :)) maybe try a more “serious” font. i may seem a bit “off”, but then again: its the customers who use the site and product, so it IS homemade. and may reflect that. i feel the same thing about the pay-off too as SüDKOMFORT. its more clear that way. And the design element is one stroke of genious!. highly flexible. clever!
all in all the best contribution in my opinion.

  52. 52 by spreadshirtFAN | Feb 7th, 2006 at 3:11 am

to keep it short: i agree with lade73 ;)
i can’t write good english so she/he said everything i wanted to say :)

take this best, forget the rest!

  53. 53 by bkohl | Feb 7th, 2006 at 8:22 am

well i dont know why you all like it that much! In my personal opinion this is too clear and i dont like the font. Just cause you can put it under an picture or an advertisment this is not the best ci here! I hope you know what i mean. Sorry for my english.

  54. 54 by getimo | Feb 7th, 2006 at 4:05 pm

Thanks again for all your comments. I think that a logo has to look good for MOST of the people - not for ALL. It is not possible to point on everyones taste. But nice to see that some guys like this logo. I think I could say that the most of the comments were positive - but I also want to say that I love negative critism to make me/the logo even better.

Sorry for my bad English too.

  55. 55 by getimo | Feb 7th, 2006 at 4:10 pm

Sorry, forget to say: I totally agree with the comment of dennis (No. 47). A logo has to bee very simple if it’s growing - it must be prepared for the future.

  56. 56 by eM | Feb 8th, 2006 at 2:26 am

I’d have to agree with elwood, vali and the others - its a bit boring for my liking and for something thats based on a speach bubble it doesn’t ’say much’ for the brand - maybe if it was a phone company or an online chat-line? Sorry man wouldn’t like this on my site either!;)

PS: isn’t comment #49 from you from your own website??
