spreadmanWell, now I’m sitting here an think about something creative to do.
By producing a trance track on my own a few days ago I felt very happy and well.
But this feeling couldn’t continue - without having the correct female vocals or the money to record something in a studio you look like a cat out of a bag *lol
Well, I decided to eat some chocolate (you know: the luck-hormones in it :D ), to make a break in my sound-design, but to continue my graphic design.
The first time I was desperate, but I didn’t give up the hope - I called “spreadman”, yeah - he was the rescuer in this emergency situation.
A symbol for power and engagement - but I think he can’t sing :D
After flying around the globe and helping people, that had no style, we fought against killer stains and Doctor Blackwood.
Blackwood was a little bit crazy - he wanted to rule over the whole world and built a machine that should terminate all colours for continuing a life in black, white and grey.
After having the grandious idea to use some flashes and sheares, we destroyed the machine and built a plotter by using a little bit bubblegum that pasted the recycled parts.
Well, we had a plotter, some textiles, but we didn’t have a logo yet.
I discussed with Spreadman and we decided to style a new one.
Because of these happenings and the idea to celebrate the existance of colours in our life we wanted to use some poppy, trendy ones.
Just colours that let your heart blossom and make the fire in your eyes burn.
Step by step we studied the meanings of all colours to choose a few with a powerful statement.
We made a set of 2 colours:
~ Bright Red (pink also could be used to make it “fresher”) - for: “Optimistic, dynamic, energizing, exciting, sexy, intense, stimulating, powerful, energetic, International significance: China = good luck; India = purity; Eastern cultures = signifies joy when combined with white.”

~ Light Blue - for: “Peace, tranquillity, quiet, cool, clean, soft, pure, understanding.”
(you can find this descriptions on the website of hewlett packard)

Remembering the night-flight and the world that we protected against slavery we decided to make an international sign.
Perhaps a white dove - international sign for peace ?! - Well, better! - a raising eagle - a symbol for freedom - freedom of choice !
it’s raising up - a symbol for success

the idea

think about it, individuality! design your own stuff! …
well, spreadshirt gives you the opportunity to design your own fashion … it isn’t only in your mind any more - your idea gets an id !!!
The font had to be international, too. - hmm, a clear, modern, good readable, but not too obtrusive font …
we chose “Century Gothic” …it’s a good neutral combination to the square-logo with the swung forms inside …

we had the single logo, we had the font - we combined it ….
well, do you miss something?! - yes …. the cool, understanding slogan ;-)
cool and understanding?! - remember the colours !!! …. with the intention to set a good contrast to the red logo and a second highlight that refers to “cool” and “understanding” we chose to make the slogan blue …
cause you know: slogans exist to look pretty cool and make you understand logos

here are the results:

freedom of choiceyour idea gets an idea

so save your own individuality and remember the spreadman every time you see the sign ;-)

THE END

kriddle
At this point I don’t only want to talk about the logo, but also about the way of style that could be possible for the spreadshirt corporate identity.
This Creation is a tribute to lak.
He still inspirated me with his “Krickelei”.
Do you want to join our Krickelei-Community, too? :D
Just kidding…
It isn’t a picasso, but a real steve :)
The concept = “individuality”.
The font is kriddled, one color, red.
Green, fresh background.
The logo, including a “s”, is a shirt with a dynamic wave that symbolizes success - like a stock on the wallstreet or like an arrow to the sky
I think a “Krickelei-Style” would be something new ….so that people think about it and say “what the hell is this?!” ….could be a new kind of marketing, too.
There are 6 “s” in the creation, but you don’t recognize them all …. Krickelei is a good method to use signs and letters in different ways without a “too-full- and-too-much-of-the-same-stuff-effect”
…easy to create, easy to change - like the Spreadomat :)
…and it’s also international, because each human being (apes, too) - no matter if kid or grandpa, man or woman- can kriddle

at the end let’s say a little slogan, that could be possible: “spreadshirt - kriddle your own”
- cause you know how easy it is to design your own shirt online ;-)

metall ironthis time I created a futuristic logo combined with tradition.
An iron (you can find such symbols on manuals how to press your shirts) creates the s - symbolizing the fashion spreadshirt stands for.
The metal symbolizes the machines that print your shirts.
The 3 dots -usually used to say “press your shirts on 60 degrees” or so- this time symbolize the globe/world, but also for example the 3 categories “sports”, “shops” “designer” that you can find on spreadshirt.net.
The dots are upgradeable, that means, you can use more or less - for example if you want to make a website-logo with navigation.
the “s” nearly is square …so you can use this symbol like a brick to build some other graphics and so on

one-color-version:

… and after work is done *hehe :D

spreadman

last night I had the idea to design an iconical character called spreadman (thread “you think it”).
Why? - hmm, every cool firma has a character - for example coca cola with santa clause, or camel with its camel called “joe” and so on.
Spreadman is an individuum, a person that works at spreadshirt and a person that uses spreadshirt.
He looks to the right to symbolize spreadshirt’s view to the future.
This time I designed him without the borders around - to get more freedom - because it’s a free mind.
Spreadman has 3 spreaded lines with clouds in the top of his mind - these are his ideas. The ideas, that will be printed on his shirts.
You also can see an “s” that creates his ear, goin’ up to his brain and making the head dynamic (could be the head of a sport star, perhaps a football player)…
This means, that you - as customer- have an idea, tell it spreadshirt … and spreadshirt - a company that has an ear for you, your wishes and your problems- makes everything to realize your shirt-idea :)
The shirt itself - a symbol for the products of spreadshirt creates eye, a part of the mouth and touches the ear - in fact: the spreadshirt touches your senses :)
the font (Verdana, I described it a few posts ago) is 2 colored- I prefer to use orange to give the font freshness (does anyone say oranges aren’t fresh?! :P)
The part “shirt” is in this color, cause the shirts are fresh.
The part “spread” takes relation “to spreadman” and has the line of his mind.
In the middle (”e”) there’s a dot - symbolizing the world - the world of spreadshirt and the world where spreadshirt delivers to.
The first part of the slogan is reflected to symbolize a little and “crazy” idea, it stands below the “spread” . …. The second part of the slogan is in the right position to show professionality ….that spreadshirt also takes your crazy ideas and makes something good with it :) …so it stands below the “shirt” …. (cause “we print shirts”)
The “y” and the “w” of the slogan work together like bricks - harmony of customer’s ideas and company’s products.
…hmm, well, you could do a lot of things with “spreadman” …you could let him fly as a super hero through the world of fashion - helping despaired people that have no style *lol

spreadmanshirt

you think it can’t sleep, cause something is in my mind ;-)
my idea comes with a person like me - I call him the “spreadman”, yeah :D …but could also be a woman
he has a creative mind - like a lot of people that use the spreadshirt service.
he is positionated in the centre of the box to …. - no, better -… the box is all around him - symbolizing spreadshirt, that is all around to give people like him a full service.
the border has outstanding points like “/” to symbolize a rise - success.
the shirt in the middle of “spreadmans” head shows his thoughts, creativity and ideas and graphically creates his eye and his ear -> this means that spreadshirt touches your senses if you wear it.
I created this little label in relation on the actual spreadshirt slogan “you think it. we print it.”

swan 3 Imagine you are a designer and there’s a company needing new ideas.
You know the company, its work, its products and you love it.
But, not only you! - All over the world these products are loved.
You know that this company acts international and you want to show it.
How? … Well, you need a globe … let’s use a circle.
You know what this company offers - all customers know that
…but it isn’t only the product what they buy - it’s also quality and elegance.
But how to show? You think about it…you know the name of the company - called spreadshirt …
now you also think of “spread” … the lights get on, you have an idea: you think of a swan - a symbol for elegance and living, a
bird that spreads its wings… Now you have to show how this elegance is spread all over the world …
remember the circle …you have a kind of fire in your mind… fire?! …fire reminds you of swinging flames, curves and situations
where you feel well… you take the swung neck of the swan with its elegant curves and put it into the circle.
But you aren’t satisfied yet … you remember your slogan …you think about combining it with the logo
….you start to stretch the curves of the swan …to the left, to the right ….you start to create little letters, harmonizing with the logo …
you get a “f” - f like fashion, you get an “i” - i for individuals…

swan 1 you don’t have enough … now you want to use a font - clear and elegant, too - that on the one hand can be combined in harmony with the logo and on the other hand also can work as an independent accessoire.
You decide for Verdana ( I described the reason in my thread “is it love ? - !” )
…well, you don’t simply want to write the name … you experimentate a little bit with the colors to bring some life in the word
….. but if the logo shall be printed in only one color?! - you have a problem … do you? …no! …you simply use the font inverted

swan 2 now you have 3 things: a logo, a font, a slogan - just combine:

swan 3 well, now you also can use the logo in smaller presentations - just like:

swan 4 Maybe I’m a little bit crazy, but on this way I wish you a happy new year

Kind regards, Steve :)

.net this logo identifies with the best character a product can stand for - love … love of the product, love of the work - this means quality !
Wouldn’t it be a good thing if there is peace all over the world?!
Spreadshirt -not only a pioneer in producing new, fresh, individual clothes - makes a beginning and leaves signs between the people - perhaps a smile, a happy, satisfied person that wears his/her own fashion.
this heart is orange, because it isn’t a heart like all the other hearts that exist - no, it’s the heart of the spreadshirt - community !!!
love A community that spread its wings to the world to make the people happy with its clothes.
This heart is individual - like the fashion of spreadshirt - fashion for individuals - make your own shirt !
the heart consists of 2 parts - a “s” for spreadshirt and a abstract t-shirt.
the font of spreadshirt is Verdana - I’m the meaning it’s the finest font a company can use - some font-designers are the opinion it stands for high quality. …and … it’s a standard, too …. there are many computers, that use verdana.
the slogan consists of an other, swung font - to express the individuality !!!

2 arrows

s - button this logo symbolizes a button - it stands for the fashion, the clothes and the work of spreadshirt.
the button has the form of a s - s like spreadshirt.
you can use it as single label or with the text “spreadshirt” … the text is in lines, it spreads - one the one hand the lines are a metapher for the seams / producing of clothes, one the other hand the lines bring a little bit dynamic in the typographie - it seems to be fast - like the delivery service of spreadshirt …get your clothes in 3 days ;-)
s button

f(l)ashionjesus, I can’t get enough :D

this time I made a logo orientated on simplicity …
I used a flash to demonstrate the energy, the dynamic and the power that a company like spreadshirt has.
( the flash also stands for the “s” -> spreadshirt )
flash When you create an outfit on spreadshirt, you don’t want to have only a simple shirt - you want something new, you want to look cool, you want to be “flashy” - that’s the reason why you use spreadshirt - not only fashion - it’s flashion ;-)
