This design works on the idea that a t-shirt has a similar shape to an arrow.

The lower half of the logo represents a t-shirt and the upper half an arrow, so that the arrow points to the center of the t-shirt. The ‘t-shirt’ and the ‘arrow’ are both the same size, so they are balanced. They also need each other to complete the symbol, just like Spreadshirt and their customers need one another to make a finished product. It can be seen as a meeting of two halves.

Because the logo is an asterix it naturally brings attention to itself, people mark something of importance with an asterix. Being simple, strong and memorable it is easy to work with at any size and in any colour. I have provided a couple of examples how the logo might fit with the Spreadshirt text.

The idea behind this design is simple, a halo that can also be seen as the neck of a t-shirt.
Like any good logo it is a little abstract, but the idea is strong and visually it supports the Spreadshirt brand so it has solid credentials. It covers all the attributes that Spreadshirt want to project as stated in the brief.

Quality – The halo is a gold colour, a universal code of excellence (gold medal, gold card, gold ring, etc)

Speed – The word logo is slightly extended and is openly spaced giving a subtle impression of speed.

Honesty – Can you get a symbol more honest than a halo?

Tongue-in-cheek – Is in the idea itself…t-shirts from heaven!

The logo as a whole has a friendly but also confident feel. As a finishing touch, when the halo is shown independently the highlights change it from an ‘O’ shape, to a shape that can be seen (with a little imagination) as an ‘S’ for Speadshirt.
Because the logo is so clean it works brilliantly large, small, single colour and inversed and will transfer to any application from pens to private jets.
