MAKE YOUR OWN PRINT (monochrome) MAKE YOUR OWN PRINT (quadri)MAKE YOUR OWN PRINT (blue)hello ! So, I wanted to do anything in what we can see different symbol.

- The first one is the finger print : symbolize an unique concept, identity, design or print. Everybody want to make is own design when we think about it… ^^

- The second one is the “S”: represente the “S” of Spreadshirt. It’s the “logic” link with the design and spreadshirt word.

- The third one is the spread or diffusion (the blue one) : we can see an echo… like when we throw anything in water, and witch make some cyrcle after that… (I understand me ^^ …hum)

*Update*

Why I’ve choosed to make the finger print :
The idea came to me on the beginning of the contest. But other idea was less hazy in my head and thats why I’ve posted it at last.
In making some small drafts about that idea of fingerprint I realized the difficulty to make a logo witch should live in small in a web page and witch should have more originality than a basic fingerprint.
After lot of small drafts, and lot of real test with my own finger (it’s true ! ^^ ), I’ve seen a sort of “S”. “I GOT IT !” Starting from that, the real idea was born. A finger print with a “S” in it. So after that, all the dificulty was on the realisation.

the colors :
I’ve found that four colors to make a beauteeful charter afterwards.I make the choice to not give an explanation for every colors but for the whole colors. For me it expresses the diversity. The diversity of spreadshirt members, the diversity of spreadshirt design, and finally the diversity in support and technical print.

the fingerprint :
It represent our own identity, and it’s could looks like a signature.
We could say that a finger print is the natural signature of everybody. So I think that logo can “sensitive” people about spreadshirt. It symbolize the unique concept, design or print and it express what everybody can do with his own capabilitys.

the spread : I think we can see an echo in the logo whot represent the spread.

The motion : that’s an important point of the logo (I think.)…The curves and the color gives a young and dynamic look.

The easyness to make and send a teeshirt with a design : talk about the easiness of execution and compare it to make a simple fingerprint with our finger on a paper…: )

to resume the possibility of communication with this logo :

- The diversity
- The signature
- A gestual sign : http://img75.imageshack.us/img75/9803/sign9uo.jpg
- The motion and spread
- The easiness of execution
- the fingerprint

thanks to aware spirits ;o) and really sorry for my english ;o)

It is really nice, elegant and kind of primitive. I like it a lot.

i love looking at all of these. very nicely presented and clean. maybe a bit too sophisticated for spreadshirt. their logo should be bolder.

Very nice Idea! I like logos with a good idea. The realisation isn’t that hard work. So, your entry is one of my favourites beside mine one ;)

i like the symbol on the left side but in combination with this type of font and the background colours it looks a little bit
    oldfashioned.

  10. 10 by smutje | Mar 8th, 2006 at 3:27 pm

by the way i wonder why you point out that it looks like (you want it to look like?) a fingerprint because that aspect was never obvious in my eyes.

  11. 11 by Bine | Mar 8th, 2006 at 5:12 pm

    WOW!

  12. 12 by mojo | Mar 8th, 2006 at 5:45 pm

    @smutje

i like the idea of the "finger" print.
i agree with you smutje. the execution of this idea does not show a finger print, oh well!, more like a smoke/steam from a espresso/ coffee/ latte ad in my eyes. hmmm, i think this idea should be combine with someone else idea here that showed a coffee mug..remember?

  13. 13 by TARZION | Mar 8th, 2006 at 11:46 pm

A coffee smoke ? really? …. (so damned)
I respect your point of view. If it’s a smoke, we can say that it’s a sort of spread to ^^

for the coffee looks it’s like
    this one:

    http://olp.spreadshirt.net/wordpress/index.php?p=1077

    this one :

    http://olp.spreadshirt.net/wordpress/index.php?p=1079

    or this one :

    http://olp.spreadshirt.net/wordpress/index.php?p=1080

all with a brown background. But I don’t agree for the one in a white background.(personally)

To answer at the fingerprint who is not reconizable by you, you’re gone to laugh ^^ but that was my fear not to represente a simple fingerprint we can see every where. One of my first motivation on the realisation was to make logo with some dynamic and esthetics forms. BUT always with a link to finger print idea.

also vielen Dank für Ihre Kommentare !

    big thanks ;D

finally it doesnt matter that i dont see a finger print because it doesnt change the way it looks like.

  15. 15 by TARZION | Mar 9th, 2006 at 10:21 am

yes it doesn’t change the way YOU FIND it looks like.
    You are right. ;-)

  16. 16 by smutje | Mar 9th, 2006 at 11:24 am

okay now i vote for another draft. thx bye bye

Vote for what you prefer… no problem. Anyway thanks for your point of view, bye bye

The payoff is pretty clever and IMO it rubs out any doubt about the meaning of the "S" pictograph…actually I’m surprised that someone reads it as a smokish thing.

I’m a little puzzled about the relatioship between the logotype and the symbol, expecially when reduction occurs.

By the way, 4 concept and execution, I think that this is the best olp purpose.

    Good luck man…

  19. 19 by TARZION | Mar 9th, 2006 at 11:44 pm

and I’ll need some … Thank you man It’s very nice.

what have i said in post #6? simply one of the best in here. good luck!

  21. 21 by Peter F. | Mar 10th, 2006 at 5:23 pm

i would like to know if it was your initial intention to create a design that combines all the aspects you pointed out in your statement/interpreation (afterwards) because some of them seem to be a little bit farfetched im my eyes. you know there is always more to see in a design if you are really willing to see it ;)

  22. 22 by Peter F. | Mar 10th, 2006 at 5:33 pm

    p.s. interpretation

  23. 23 by Peter F. | Mar 10th, 2006 at 5:45 pm

o.k. i read one of your comments above and you said it was not your intention to make it look like an object everybody would recognize as a fingerprint.
i will not think about the fingerprint aspect anymore.

  24. 24 by TARZION | Mar 10th, 2006 at 8:00 pm

Spreastyle : really thank you ;) all your comments was great for me and I’ll never forget ;) …

  25. 25 by TARZION | Mar 10th, 2006 at 8:02 pm

Peter F. : I’m agrea with you … We can interprete a lot in all logo.
My first intention was : to make a "modern" fingerprint if I could say. But don’t you really see a fingerprint in the black one ? just a little ?… :)
But it’s true for interpretation…I’m a sort of "dreamer". But you can’t say that I never prevented ! ^^ in my comment if your read : thanks to aware spirits ;o)

    By the way thankyou ;D

  26. 26 by Peter F. | Mar 10th, 2006 at 8:41 pm

yes i can see (a part of) a fingerprint but the reason why i can see it is because you mentioned it. what im really seeing (without reading the text above) are repeating s-shaped lines.

  27. 27 by TARZION | Mar 10th, 2006 at 9:51 pm

yes perhaps a little… in all case, sorry, it was not my intention. Really.

So, you see some repeating s-shaped lines, it’s your analysis and I respect it.
For me the first most important thing in a design is to recognize him easily to stay in people head.
Don’t you find that those s-shaped lines are making an original logo at all?

    :)

  28. 28 by Peter F. | Mar 11th, 2006 at 3:11 pm

there wouldn’t be a discussion about it if you havent written such a detailed (and subjective)interpretation of your own work tarzion. let people see/think on their own.

  29. 29 by TARZION | Mar 11th, 2006 at 5:10 pm

I don’t understand where you want to go Peter F.
I really think that you’re assuming too much about my intention. So I don’t have right to say my point of view about my design ? It’s crazy . I’ve just explain that design because we ask me to make it !

Sorry to be a designer who explain what he see in his work and what it "C-O-U-L-D" represent for himself.I don’t have any rights ?. All interpretation are subjective about every logo you are right, but please my interpretation to !

On principle I really think that people have the necessary brain to make a difference about my point of view and their own. I respect their feelings and I’m open to have a discuss about it, like I’m doing since 2 days with you.
But if you start to blame me because I’ve explain my feelings, I see no point in carrying on this discussion because I repeat it, that was not my intention. Peter F. I’m not a manipulator thankyou :)
I repeat to people : My point of view is mine. Yours is yours ;) Sorry to not have said in my explain.

Have fun, and By by ! :)

sorry, I can’t get away the coffee machine impression, that comes as a first glimpse when looking at this logo … :-/

  31. 31 by TARZION | Mar 13th, 2006 at 10:11 am

Ok … (what a positive last impression for mine ^^)
… Anyway that contest was real great !!! it was a pleasure ! ;o)
    by by ! ;O))

    max

  32. 32 by spreadstyle | Mar 13th, 2006 at 12:23 pm

its all because of the brown and milky background. the logo itsself doesnt seem to me like a coffee machine.
