In terms of a first impression, it's not much. The playfulness of the logo is obscured by all the elements. Also the tab itself has been reduced to a very small size that it loses most of its visual impact. And like Kim said, everything about the logo is being served up for the viewer that it becomes stale and forgettable. Compared that to the angled version in the poster, which is very effective in its visual composition and intuitiveness. I agree with everyone else that the startpage version does not work. For example on wednesday I did a presentation (about the OLP btw.) and used the new logo with the angled seam in my templates .. it looked awesome! And of course we will also develop it further, since we want to have a "living" corporate design. btw. I like the "I love NY" quote a lot because it was also quite funny to see how some people would discover the shirt :) kim, we will definitely use both versions - depending on the purpose. The page itself communicates the message pretty clear in my opinion. I can feel that this feels more like some sort of campaign than a new logotype - it's too many elements to interpret.
