just to confirm : Logo and corporate name is very small in the webpage because of the vertical version and "your own label" hidden by default it's not very effective for a strong visual and corporate identity .

I agree with everyone else that the startpage version does not work. In terms of a first impression, it's not much. The playfulness of the logo is obscured by all the elements. Also the tab itself has been reduced to a very small size that it loses most of its visual impact. And like Kim said, everything about the logo is being served up for the viewer that it becomes stale and forgettable.

Compared that to the angled version in the poster, which is very effective in its visual composition and intuitiveness.

kim, we will definitely use both versions - depending on the purpose. For example on wednesday I did a presentation (about the OLP btw.) and used the new logo with the angled seam in my templates .. it looked awesome!
And of course we will also develop it further, since we want to have a "living" corporate design.
btw. I like the "I love NY" quote a lot because it was also quite funny to see how some people would discover the shirt :)

Schimanski:

Hehe, I'm not pissed at all. It's all up to you guys. Happy to see an answer though. I however, think that the good thing about the Lovetab is that it's not obvious. Like the creator of the "I love NY" once said: "I think the reason why people like it is because they feel smart when they figure it out". I get the message you want to bring forward. But in my opinion, a creative company should be more creative than informative to that point where the message makes the look&feel suffer. The page itself communicates the message pretty clear in my opinion. I can feel that this feels more like some sort of campaign than a new logotype - it's too many elements to interpret.

But, all in all... if you keep the Graphic Profile like in that launch-ad, I'm more than proud to have my work put into it. It's great! :)

hi,
one thing we wanted to keep in mind was to make it also very easy for our customers to get what the new logo is about. all you guys in the olp and we know what the new logo is about, but hinz&kunz (german phrase for "the general people out there") don't know it. so we thought we must give them a visual help here. you're both right that it's not the absolut perfect solution on the website, but in case of ressources, time and restrictions not to make a complete makeover, i think it turned out well. for me the colors also work and the vertical shape is far better, because it makes a compact logo. again good job kim and i hope you're not too heavily pissed. ;-)

have a nice day and keep on rockin
