Many photos from the unveiling and after party in the full post
After some organizational and logistical nightmares, missed flights, 6am starts, 24hr multi-part train journeys everyone descended on Leipzig’s Designers Open for the OLP unveiling, eventually and looking a little worse for wear. With the OLP team were Patric aka Japasa and his interpretor Kerstin, our two french winners Laurent (and his translator girlfriend Annett), and Kim Larsen all the way from Sweden.
We’ve about 6000 pictures from this so I’ll put them on flickr, but for now here is a little highlights reel:
These were posters up around the event publicizing the unveiling:
Some technical glitches with music, lighting, the laptop etc aded a nice stressy kick to the start of the proceedings. Here is Pete and I rigging up the beamer.
The crowd eagerly awaits the show (with new beamer location):
Eike and I did played hosts.
After a recap of the contest, we showed the currently announced panel winners Labelheads and Superheroes. Then moved to the Grand Finalists using Models to show how the logos might have looked on Spreadshirt Apparel.
The Spreadshirt Samurai even agreeing to attend and model Spreadshirt TM. Then Patric, Laurent, Nicolas and Kim joined we did a brief interview about the ideas behind their logos. Here is Laurent talking about the Signal.

Our stage invasion begins :)
Jana then joined
In a question mark t-shirt made up of the finalists designs. We announced the winners to a very shocked Kim and Nicolas
Here are the winners modelling their designs:

Japasa with Spreadshirt TM

Laurent with the signal. We also had alternate version with just the circle on hats and hoodies.

Nicolas with his Play with the forms shirt.

Kim with Manon our French PR person and the Lovetab model for the night.
And all togther:

Then we hit the town for food before jumping the mile long queue for the DO and semi-official OLP after-party in the basement of the Blechbuse. This was the entrance, it was a really amazing location.
My photography skills are still at the whoops I put my thumb in the picture level, but here you can see the cycle of all 2800 OLP logos which went all night long (7hrs or so to get through them all). It was above one of the bars. Suprisingly I took just about no photos of the party, so hopefully someone else did.
All in all it was a great night and a big success. Photos of the winners with their prizes coming soon. Thanks to everyone who helped pull it together and for the designers for making the long trip over!!
