Just one this week. Interesting week, a lot of very different ideas, different executions from the pencils in Update 1.1 & Create your Label, Hand Shadowy style of Japasa to the freak out lets make a new language originality of Beans Universal Language.

First the two that came close…..

1. Icon Revised by Bulgrin.

It fits nicely into Manuels ideas about Concept, Execution, Evolution. It has a simple, strong concept. Good execution and room for evolution (rotate products from just shirt, show partner designs etc). It does remind us alot of Pascalphilly’s Copyright Style and while we prefer the circle version better, the font is a little standard. We’re also not sure about the addition of the tag. Perhaps the two of them could collaborate and take the idea on further.

Second:

2. Create your own label by AlexanderWende

It holds together really well. Great presentation, love the sticker idea and the amount of thought shown.

But the two different pencils? Doesnt feel relevant, we’re not sold on the pencil idea in general somehow it doesn’t feel applicable. But its a nice idea, we like the style of the shirt it feels like it could head in the direction of pascalphillys your own label - so easy with the interchangable panels idea.

Could be interesting and again another collaboration possibility. We’re not totally sold on the concept yet, so we passed on this one.

One other design we should give a special mention to is Universal Language by Bean, its the one that impressed us most this week. A great concept, a wow, wow, wow presentation and loads of potential. We can’t wait to see more, but its early days for this idea we think.

So we ended up going for just one entry this week:

Inadimova’s Think_Spreadshirt_update

Here’s what we liked about Think_Spreadshirt_update

We’re really into this “wear what your thinking” concept. Its an important part of how we market ourselves and the core of what our service is about, changing your enviroment, showing your creativity and expression. This design brings these elements together and encourages people to “think spreadshirt”, whilst still being simple and flexible.

Like all the finalists designs, we think that there are a few things that could be improved. Suprisingly Inadimova turned out to be somewhat of a mindreader and solved two of them in her latest version:

- Might take up too much space, maybe stacked would be better

- Could do more with the TM concept rotating designs etc.

These are pretty much solved in the new version:

think_spreadshirt_stacked.jpg

There is still one or two areas we could see potential tweakage:

- Somehow its not quite either shirt or bubble, its sort of stuck in between, when we showed it around most saw a bubble, few saw a shirt. Perhaps thats an area that could be improved, for example Jana suggested adding sleeves.

- We’re also not 100% sure about the font. For example we prefer the s’s of the other design. Maybe you guys could work together on it, or you can leave it be, the choice is entirely yours.

Here is what customization guru Frank Piller said about it:

“Love on the first view. The Shirt-Callout is one the best ideas I ever saw
to communicate customization!”

On the whole, the design is nearly there and we’re delighted to put it into the final. Congrats Inadimova! Thanks to those designers that made the shortlist, you made it a really interesting discussion this week.

Congrats Inadimova ! I really think this is the best logo so far, along with Legofish’s Labelheads and Japasa’s Hands. I’m sure Japasa will join the grand finalists next week with the improvements made on his logo…
