9 made it through this week. Find out more in the full post.
A strong week, record number of entries and some nice innovative concepts. The 9 that made it are shown here http://olp.spreadshirt.net/finalists/
Congrats to you all, especially Laurent who has two on this weeks list. He would have had three but we deemed “My Label in move” too similar to “Your own fingerprint“, which better separated spread and shirt (and was slightly more popular).
You’ll spot something familiar in Redtab, last weeks near grand finalist, back in the form of Lovetab.
After some near misses Mootsie also makes the shortlist for the first time with Cut Cut. We liked the flexibility of this (even the possibility of getting the beloved Moustache Man involved). Flexibility was also strong factors in Pascalphilly (we think there are many more alternatives that could be included in the three panels) & Laurent’s Spreadheart and Own Label - So easy
We loved the simplicity, visual impact and brief hitting of Labelheads, Rolled up S-label, The Hand & Your own fingerprint.
This was easily the closest week ever, all the following designs were only one vote away from making the list Mr Spreadshirt by Cuypi, Japasa with Shopping Bag and Bag Logo, Wild Fingerprint by n20, Trust Moustache by Mootsie, previous shortlist Your Own logo *Update* by Maumer Design , Spread Colors by Mosne, Hang In by Illustraio
Congratulations everybody. Now we’ll take this to the panel and another internal voting round. Grand finalists will be announced on Thursday.

congrats top everybody! :)
but it seems, that the jury likes the colour blue mostly… isn’t it?
All right, I did it this time…but do not think you are done with me so easily, I’ll send more!
Me too(tsie)! Didn’t have the time to finish all the ideas I’ve got. But write This down: I WILL LOAD THIS SERVER! :)
Mootsie: :)
adam: why were the other logos only one vote away from the list? because I think the other logos were good, too… it would be nice if the designers know why they were only one vote away from the list, so they can improve their logo…
Thanks for liking my logo, and I feel just too proud that I did it to the weekly selection with a non-lightblue logo!
Should we seriously think about saying each new logo entry must be a gray scale logo, that the jury will not be mislead by the wonderful light blue? A Logo has to work in black and white anyway, so it would not be too bad. hmm?
Adam:
“we think there are many more alternatives that could be included in the three panels”
What exactly do you have in mind? just treating the tshirt differently or replacing it by other elements - I heard you´re in love with hearts right now;) No, seriously: I think the shirt should stay but I am willing to think about other variations if you need to see more for Thursday, just let me know what you had in mind.
congrats to everybody…i feel that this week was with a even higher level than the other ;-)
i agree with Japasa, if some almost passed the selection, it would be nice to know those ones ;-)
Pascalphilly:
Most of the logos are using those colours because they are the colours of the spreadshirt website and in the first briefing ( I don’t remember if it is said also in the new one) was suggested to stay in the same scheme. Anyway, most of the logos present a b/w version also, so I don’t think that that the jury will be misled…
WOW! I gotta say i’m pretty disappointed by the lack of diversity in terms of the shortlist in previous weeks by it’s more disappointing this week. There seems to be a formula emerging that’s restricts the selection to the following characteristics: shirts, tags, s, blue, gray, and sans serif. I would trade the ff entries for more than half of those included in the shortlist for the ff reasons. Although i should say I included my entry:
mr. spreadshirt
Great illustration, has personality. Typography needs work but definitely worth being on the list
orange you glad
Mainly for the reason that it’s mine :) but i like the double meaning behind it.
label people
A little more polished version than the one on the list. It targets a more diverse demographic: men, women, young, and old as opposed to the one on the list which only includes young men.
hang in
This is just beautifully done and the application of it in the shirt and other products is just dynamic.
a child play
very creative concept. nice asymmetric design.
stitches
another great asymmetric design.
my label in move
better variation of the one on the list. nice play between positive and negative space. although i don’t like the one with the old logo.
Thanks for all your comments guys. I’m a little confused though. We never revealed those that came near before, now we have and your telling me it would be good to reveal those that came near? :)
So some were near (everybody votes within Spreadshirt these didn’t quite get enough votes), they’re listed above, hopefully it encourages those that came close not to neccesarily re-submit that particular designs but to show them that we appreciate their contributions, they nearly made it and we hope to see more from them in the next week.
Hopefully that makes sense. As for the blue thing, yeah it is blue heavy. I guess thats because we asked you to some degree with our current corporate style guidelines, but as Mootsie said most of these logos have several different versions that we also reviewed, blue is in no way a requirement..
yeah, I will not give up! :)
Maybe we should rename LaFraise to LeMoustache, that logo is too cool not to use it ;)
Of course I do not believe spreadshirt just picks by color, was rather a joke - it still feels strange that all selections seem to be blue… but whatever.
I already uploaded some new stuff!
Me same. I also wonder about this colour but I think that maybe forms, creativites and ideas are important for spreadshirt. Therefore I do not know whether spreadshirt can change colour of logo if it does not like this one. Hm.
@Pascalphilly you are courageous to non-blue logo. ^^
yeah heh whats up with blue here?
seems to be a real trend color of the moment eh
it’s the actual spreadshirt brand color (plus dark brown); as someone indicated it before It’s suggested at the briefing..
