Its an (S)shirt by Logodesigner & Spreadshirt_005 by Lemerou

A great start yesterday. In total 17 new designs, a few shown above. I can see 9 or 10 that are being prepared as we speak, or type rather. Whats really great is all the discussion thats happening around the designs, its encouraging to see 15 or 16 comments offering suggestions or comments on entries. Keep giving feedback to the other designers, or feel free to rate a design in the comments, let us know which designs you want to see as this weeks weekly picks heading for the grand final.

We also had our first copyright violation. See this entry

We’ve placed the original tree, found here over the top. It also caused a similar problem when used on this Threadless design. Because of this although its still in the entries area (mainly as an example and because the comments are interesting), it won’t be available for progression to the grand final. We all know that inspiration comes from developing ideas we see around us, but its up to you to turn that inspiration into truly original output. In this case the designer found it listed as a free vector when actually it wasn’t, easy mistake to make but please check your sources.

Whats your favourite entry so far?

the visual rethorics of the “S”-shirt logois convincing. The aesthetics don’t convince me totally. The others are IMHO nice to look at but not strong retorically.

Speaking of copyright infringement… Do you guys have Apple’s permission to use one of their desktop backgrounds in your web banner?

First of all, Spreadshirt is not interested in helping us create a “label” As long as Spreadshirt keeps advertising itself on our invoices, packaging and e-mail without our authorization or approval. If you want us to have a label then stop stealing our clients and give us a list of names of our clientale. And we can’t have a label in a Marketplace filled with Spreadshirt designs, that is a direct conflict of interest right there. A better slogan would be, “You find the clients, we steal them”

    Hi, “org”,

We offer a range of solutions for folks depending on what they want. So, let’s walk through your concerns:

    * Advertising on invoices. You can put your own logo on the invoices with a premium account. We are also considering additional options here, as our strategy is more towards the “Intel Inside” idea, in that you are stronger if customers know you are using Spreadshirt for fulfillment. Please understand, I am NOT saying we are there yet, but so you know our strategy.

    * Advertising on packaging. With our latest round of packaging (available in the next few months), we have reduced our branding on packaging. Again, see above regarding our strategy, and this is an example of a change to this.

    * Without authorization or approval. You sign up for our service, and we define what it is based on your feedback. We openly communicate with our partners regularly. We don’t satisfy everyone all the time, and we won’t. But we do listen and adapt, as we both grow with the service.

    * Giving you a list of clients. We are working on this, and what we can do. There are privacy issues here, as we are taking the credit card information for the customers. Most likely, we will give you access to contact your clients.

    * Marketplace and Spreadshirt designs. We drive the traffic to the marketplace, so those are “our” customers. If you want to take advantage of it, then do. You control where your ideas are presented. If you don’t want to compete with ours, then do not include your designs and products in the marketplace.

Thanks for putting your views out in the public. It is helpful to have a dialog. We do not believe we are stealing clients. And our goal is to provide a service that gives you “your own label”. We will continue to improve this offering!

    Thanks,
    Jana
