Archive for February, 2006

Dear OLPers and Spreadsters, here comes the second list of nominees. Today we want you to take a look on the creative folks and the high output contributors of this lovely contest. This is your link to the voting!

* Most Input / Participation award

Some of you know it — we were discussing to have a “SPAM award” but in the end we decided to have a more positive call on it. “Most Input” in this case means a quantitave and a qualitative issue. We collected the participants with the most entries and comments. And set the focus here more on the quantitave issue of participation. It´s your decision: Vote on heavy participation, and also decide for yourself: who of the nominees gave the most valuable input to the OLP?

* Very creative Ideas / off the record award(28.2.)

A contest like this lives by the people who don´t take a briefing too serious. If you surf the gallery, it seems we unleashed a hidden talent from some of you. The following nominees gave us something, we didn´t expect: very creative, sometimes kind of weird ideas, which we can´t use as a logo but like it for the creativity and output.
Choose your favourites!

Ladies and Gentlemen, let´s start the voting! (and read below)
I´m very excited to announce the OLP goes in a new week with the nomination of your entries: Let´s go for the voting! In the following days we will present different categories that we discussed intern and here. To keep the thrill (and, to be honest: to give us a little bit more time) we decided not to publish all entries and categories today. And we also will later announce how we split up the prizes. For the ones of you who asked: we decided to vote covertly but open without any restrictions.
Which means: we will have a close eye on the voting - and we do the great release for all prizes and winners after the voting ends on Monday 13th of march.
If you haven´t been nominated at all, don´t be afraid. Some of you gave us really cool input, so I guess we have some prizes for anyone who contributed to the OLP. But more after the vote.

Here come the first categories:

1. Best Colorscheme / Color me good award
This award goes out to the designers who really rocked the screen and amazed us by a set of fancy fresh colors.

2. Best Presentation / Style award
We picked the most interesting and stylish presentations for your vote. Please note: this award really deals with the “surface”. So please take a look for the best design presentation without focussing too much on the logo or the concept. We will do that later ..

And now: here is your easy link to the Voting!

Well, well, well .. we´re on it. Some very good drafts. Tough schedule. And still a lot to scan in the next 4 days.
In the meantime, if you want some fun and have an easy hang-out with the OLP, here is what you can do:

Discuss, for example about the categories or the fonts.
You can also post some fotos here. Therefore we´ve opened the backyard again. Show me: What is your desktop looking where you work at?
Btw. fotos: If you have an account at flickr you can also join our flickr group.
If you´re more onto really designing something new or have some nice shirt designs on your harddrive, you can also grab the spreadshirt derby template. Watch out: The first derby will also be kicked off soon.

Good news, everyone: The Open Logo Project has reached the deadline. This platform will explode soon and come to a firy end! (or something)
But before we elect the grande winner, and of course we will have some final excitement! No Oscar show without the nominees, no Open Logo Project without the nominees: Give us a little time to scan your entries, translate and publish the ones that stick in the pipeline and hang around at the OLP backyard.
In the next week, from february 27th until 2nd of march we will release up to five nominees for up to 8 different categories. For more details on the nominations see the category discussion and have a little patience. Please also note before voting and hoping: Might be that one entry will be nominated for different categories, too. Just like with the Hollywood thing, where one movie can be awarded with up to .. errm .. 13 oscars.
Except of course the Open Logo winner takes away some handy money plus one of the great Wacom tablet instead of a dull statue!
End of the vote will be 12th of march. Great Release date of all winners is planned on Monday, 13th march 2006. I hope we can stick on the time schedule. But for now: Thanks to all of you who contributed to the OLP. And: stay in the house, we will definitifely have some fun in the meantime …

concept:
The signet is a word/image brand. By merging different types the customer get the image of a unique and various brand - the customer has a deeper association than he actually sees. the overblending also symbolizes the variety of possibilities in printing and designing with spreadshirt.

coloring
the coloring is fresh, young and eye catching. A needful irritation is created by the combination of these colors and the “old fashioned” signets and the claim.
