Whats your real name and where are you from?
My name is Manuel Haugke and I live in Wiesbaden/Germany.

What’s your dayjob?
I study communications design at University of Applied Sciences Mainz, my thesis covers the subject ‚ecology and graphic design’. To gain a living, I work as a freelancer, doing corporate stuff and illustrations.

How did you get into Graphic Design?
I am visually inclined and have started to fool around with graphics software at an early age. I love good design and communicating about it.

Who’s your hero?
Stevie Wonder … One of the most varied musicians I know. His music raises my spirit when I am about to lose my nerves over my thesis.

The most important aspect of design is…………?
As a student I found out that design is not only about packaging and selling. Using strong images and good visuals, designers can cause real change, help overcome prejudice and make people act.

If you were king of the world for one day you would…………..?
I would tell all those corrupt politicians and corporate stakeholders where to get off. And I would ask them to share their riches evenly.

Whats your favourite OLP entry (excluding your own)?

I like “Your own logo” by MaumerDesign a lot. The symbol is easy, adaptable and fits my image of Spreadshirt. It is fresh and recognizable. The fonts could be improved on though. Still, I thought it would make it into the Grand Finalists’ heaven.
