I don't care what criteria this does or doesn't fulfil - I LOVE IT! Despite the fact that it's the sheer vivacity of the colours which excite me, I think it also works in monochrome.

Might be a german thing but the first thing that came to my mind when seeing this entry was "church window".At least here in Germany most windows in churches have a multi color mosaic decor like this.

Could I eat this "logo"? I like smarties, they disappear in my stomach... :D
For a logo it's too colorful and has too much different forms.

@ curious:

I think it's a stretch to claim that a multifacety of colour elements in a logo is an exclusive idea. You might as well claim the Seed logo is a rip-off of BP oil's for using a patterned flower motif. The coloured elements in the Seed logo are fixed in a specific pattern which reflects the brand's scientific context, whereas it is exactly the random element in this group's effort which makes the idea relevant to Shirtspread's "your own tag" have-it-your-way context. The two ideas are, if anything, polar opposites in context. Aside from both sharing coloured bits and an "S" in the name, I see no more similarity between than observing that two t-shirts are both made from cotton.

I find this rather reminiscent of Seed Media's logo, which you are possibly familiar with given the scientific references.
http://seedmediagroup.com/about/logo/
The confetti pattern has been varied in different ways iover time by Seed and the "S" is also a prominent part of Seed's branding.

thanks for the comments everyone. Our goal was to capture the essence of the brand's idea
rather than just visually punning the idea of 'shirt' and 'online' and 'tags'.

cheers

I like the confetti version, it's very much like a colorblindness test :D
it would be darn cool to have a logo that actually looks like a real colorblindness test, where the hidden shape is a tshirt.
with the tagline:

"your own vision - your own label"

this could be extended to a standard vision test, where the generic optotype is replaced by a generic shirt- or label-shape ...

hey, everyone: these logos can be concepts to not just old fashioned branding where you mark your cow with a hot iron... I like this concept a lot - I think it's not too advanced to be implemented using current standards. Good work, guys! (and/or gals?)

Very colorful, although the black circle does not suit it since it breaks it apart with that much contrast. Might work work best in a white background.
