The Molecular Goodness direction is a visually exciting identity which is derived from Spreadshirt’s core brand attributes: quality, ease of use and individuality. Out intent was to instill Spreadshirt’s brand proposition - Your own label - into an identity system that was unique and would work impeccably in different mediums.
After exploring a variety of directions we landed on Molecular Goodness, which has a scientific tang and represents the brand values as molecules.
These 3 core values (molecules) were each assigned a distinctive shape and can be mixed and matched in variety of combinations to create unique brand graphics. The distinctive brand mark - an oversize S - was also created out of these molecules.
To increase the legibility we added a black circle to contain the mark which was inspired by a Petri-dish. Just like cells in a Petri-dish, the Spreadshirt elements are alive and can take any shape. The logo comes in variety of lock ups and configurations to accommodate all the different environments it has to exits in.
This is a group submission. The designers are: Shahin and Pendar

We developed numerous ideas together before settling with the Molecular Goodness concept. These are the scraps developed during the collaboration process.

The presentation is excellent. My personal thought is that it is a little like confetti on a street sign….
Like the idea but i thnk that the final logo looks a little complicated when its reallt small, like on the website example, besides that i like ti :).
Looks as delicious as sprinkles on ice cream…or a donut. I’m not sure if its bad your design makes me think of food - but whatever it is, its memorable.
Very colorful, although the black circle does not suit it since it breaks it apart with that much contrast. Might work work best in a white background.
hey, everyone: these logos can be concepts to not just old fashioned branding where you mark your cow with a hot iron… I like this concept a lot - I think it’s not too advanced to be implemented using current standards. Good work, guys! (and/or gals?)
I like the confetti version, it’s very much like a colorblindness test
it would be darn cool to have a logo that actually looks like a real colorblindness test, where the hidden shape is a tshirt.
with the tagline:
“your own vision - your own label”
this could be extended to a standard vision test, where the generic optotype is replaced by a generic shirt- or label-shape …
Candy?
SMARTIES!!! CHILDREN LIKE THEM.
is it a logo…?
i hope you had fun doing this
Looks like you had a lot of fun with this, good work. Unfortunately to me it looks too colorful, almost really like candy or like a kinda teenager magazine.
thanks for the comments everyone. Our goal was to capture the essence of the brand’s idea
rather than just visually punning the idea of ’shirt’ and ‘online’ and ‘tags’.
cheers
I find this rather reminiscent of Seed Media’s logo, which you are possibly familiar with given the scientific references.
http://seedmediagroup.com/about/logo/
The confetti pattern has been varied in different ways iover time by Seed and the “S” is also a prominent part of Seed’s branding.
@ curious:
I think it’s a stretch to claim that a multifacety of colour elements in a logo is an exclusive idea. You might as well claim the Seed logo is a rip-off of BP oil’s for using a patterned flower motif. The coloured elements in the Seed logo are fixed in a specific pattern which reflects the brand’s scientific context, whereas it is exactly the random element in this group’s effort which makes the idea relevant to Shirtspread’s “your own tag” have-it-your-way context. The two ideas are, if anything, polar opposites in context. Aside from both sharing coloured bits and an “S” in the name, I see no more similarity between than observing that two t-shirts are both made from cotton.
this is nice logo but you said in the brief it had to be understand by everybody so …i don’t think spreadshirt have anything in common with molecular concept or science
Could I eat this “logo”? I like smarties, they disappear in my stomach…
For a logo it’s too colorful and has too much different forms.
yes, yes, yes……I love this one! I really like all of the colours! I think that it works really well. I would be really pleased to see this used as the New Spreadshirt logo! Good Luck!
Might be a german thing but the first thing that came to my mind when seeing this entry was “church window”.At least here in Germany most windows in churches have a multi color mosaic decor like this.
Should be called “Ishihara plate”

great work… i hope you win it in the finals
greaaaaaaaaaaat work buddy!
I don’t care what criteria this does or doesn’t fulfil - I LOVE IT! Despite the fact that it’s the sheer vivacity of the colours which excite me, I think it also works in monochrome.
Beautiful work guys!
