…elvis?!
Nope, I’m callin him “YOL” (I know, very creative lol) Hope u like him as much as I do, it is my favourite mascot/logo that I ever made so far.
It is fitting the brief very well in my opinion & he is very positve in his appearance to the costumer because of his haircut (also a greeting hand, looks also like a sticker) & the wink.
I think “YOL” puts a shirt / a sticker (spread)/ a label / a neck with a tab / the message “your motive on a shirt” (Y O L) / a speakbubble (the chin;) very well together without beeing too overdetailed & it works in a small size too.
I’ve started a little poll, the most said it is a “cute one” (especially the women & children) & two of my friends said it is memorable because of the face or the special Haircut & chin (both are graphic designer as well;)
What do u think & which version do u prefer? It would be nice to have some feedback, because it is great thing to learn something from other designers.
I’ve learned a lot in this competition! (+ some words for my english vocabulary ;))

this is great work, a nice idea to use the Y O L as a face! It is very versatile & hit the point! I like the additions a lot!
What a good degenerate smiley!
L
Y
@selena:
Thank u
@Clem:
What do u mean by “degenerate”? In a positive or negative way? (don’t get it ;))
I have to admit this is my favourit one so far, I really like the smiley face with the Y O L , besides the L O Y reminds me kind of L.O.V.E. =)
concluding I would say it definetly idea suits spreadshirt very well
@havoca:
This is an interesting interpretation u have, thank u very much!

It’s not negatif!
Oh, ok! I was not sure because my english is not that good
& the word have so many meanings (almost negative ones, thats why Iam asking ;))
I think a face/smiley is very memorable thats why I like it so much, and like my other entry (nudity/u are the key) u can put almost everything into the shirt, like the stamp for example or those icons!
Great! Man, you never run out of ideas, do you?
eheheh, a smiley is for me a good direction, and you created an original one (YOL by the way, is invented, or means something?), i think it’s a good concept (just look at my gallery lol, you’ll see that i made myself a tribute to the smiley anniversary ^^)
what i prefger is is the possibility to make variation with icons, themes, depending on the subject and advertising for example…that’s a good power of use.
the expression of the smiley is pretty good, like “malicious” (does it exists in english? i’m french sorry), and clever, so the wink invites the communication with people, taht’s good.
strangely, i think of a sumo wrestling looking at it (the form and the haircut), that’s not a problem, but that’s not the point
in definitive, i like it, it’s good, the concept good too, but that’s not my prefered one???you did a lot of VERY good designs, this one is is “just good” imo
@netweight:
Sure I do, but a long walk in the park work wonders
@jebs:
hmm I think it is the best of all so far of mine, because it communicates all that what spreadshirt stand for, is very memorable but playfull & also versatile. Graphicdesign should be a solution for such problems, thats why I think it is the best so far, it fits the brief!
“you did a lot of VERY good designs, this one is is just good”: Thank u! But I’m not sure about the others, I still have just a small amount of feedback to the others… I’m working out this concept, nudity (if I make it in time) & mixed up also like “growing” and see what happens.
Thanks for ur feedback ^^
BY THE WAY: ‘YOL’ MEANS ‘THE WAY’ IN TURKISH. GREAT CONCEPT, SHOULD HAVE BEEN IN THE FINALS.
What a nice coincidence ^^ thanks!!
