this is still one of my favorites
I’ve seen the original which i didn’t get until it was pointed out recently when necktab and pop your collar made the shortlist.
I think it’s because, for some reason, i saw the white part with the gradient as a bevel. I think the versions with the dark and blue backgrounds don’t have that illusion and communicates the concept the best.
For the white version i’d suggest just eliminate the gradient and make the space inside the shirt gray.
But i think this is definitely the better version of the “label inside shirt” idea.
I also left suggestions to the designer to use the shadows concavely to first portray the neckline, because like you, I also saw it as a bevel and therefore, as a dominant eye shape. the neckline is still easy to miss, even with this version, although it is better. I still think there’s potential with this, but I think you have the right advise to eliminate the gradients & shadows. It seems to work better solid. I think overall, the shape has potential to be better than the ‘pop’ your collar’, because it includes the label in the icon. I just think too many folks mistake it for an eye shape at first glance.
The first moment I thought seeing an eye, the second one I saw the windshield of a car, so it s kind of a funny idea, because everyone sees something different in it. So definetly cool idea!
Thanks for your comments.
Leah I’m glad you still defend this one.
It seems that you both advise to eliminate the gradient !
So if I find the time (and a way to brake the eye-looking shape) I’ll try make a new update of it.
Stay tuned…
BTW jeffersonb, I’m still a big fan of your “hand made logo”
Oops… I meant your Hand drawn logo, sorry.
