up_the_brackets_pre

The keyvisual are 2 brackets, which could contain nearly everything, user generated or spreadshirt related. Check out the full version.

short description
I choose the brackets as keyvisual because when you want to describe something more briefly, name it different or add more detail to it, you often write it in brackets.
Ergo. In the main logo “your own label” describes spreadshirt or the service they offer more briefly.
So brackets gives you unlimited possibilities in usage. Users can put their designs/ logos in it. Fill it with language URL’s, sayings for holidays, advertising, claims, etc.pp.
See my pics to get an idea of what i mean. i prepared some logo variations, a poster, a billboard, as well as an hangtag/ sticker/ greetingcardthing which could be shipped from premiumusers to say hello to their customers, and of course a businesscard.
I missed to prepare some more colorversion. but i guess for a pre-idea this should help. i have also some slight concerns about the font useage. but ok that might be minors things i will work on later.

So thanks for feedback in advance.
Cheers

Great graphic system idea, pretty much adaptable, and nicely executed.
It brings some kind of weightlessness. Good work !

I also like the weightlessness, but two brackets look still a little too generic and rather like wording or computer related things.
But nice work on those ads!

hi folks. thanks for criticism. i really appreciate that i got a few comments. stay tuned i will update this shit soon to show more variations and usage.

@joel: jep. you’re right, two brackets are generic and thats why i used them. because spreadshirt and the services they offer are only the “FRAME” for the networkers to showcase their stuff. thats why i think the symbolism of two brackets holding it together fits perfectly. you also said that it looks somehow computer related. perfect. spreadshirt offers an e-commerce service i guess, thats why its a plus i guess when it looks like computerstuff, but i did not pushed the developing in this direction. one last thing about the brackets. i think you can always develope the stuff in future, because the brackets are fontconnected, it’s easy to keep them updated. if spreadshirt is not happy anymore with the look of the “wordmark” and want to change it, it’s easy to change the keyvisual too.

Really like the concept, the “frame” idea, I just not have really clear idea about how does it look like in the favicon for example, I mean the simple one, but the concept it’s strong and nice!

Sorry, but I don’t think it works as a logo. I like the way you show yous ideas!

THIS IS ONE OF THE MOST EXPLOITED IDEAS OF THE NINETIES: BRACKETS. BESIDES THAT I THINK THIS ‘LOGO’ FALLS APART!

  14. 14 by ElChupaCabra | Oct 10th, 2007 at 6:53 pm

Either it is computer- or text-related or it is a logistic company. I could not imagine something more exchangable and generic for spreadshirt, sorry.

Hm, this really reminds me of a parcel or transportation firm, sorry, but good work

thx again dudes for commenting and discussion. i’ll take your points for granted and let them influence in the endversion.

@ pippi langstrumpf: thx for critics, but just writing that it wont work is poor. what would work for you and what makes this one a bad working logo?
@dogbite: exploited? examples please? can’t remember of a company so far.
@elchupacabra: none of them. if you see this in the logo ok. same as trium i can’t do anything in this case, but the brackets are just the frame for the users. i don’t want to point out that u use them on paper or in computers. maybe have a look on the endversion. i think i need to explain a bit more.

    but again thx.
