awesome!
(: great efforts ,
i think it’s the most flexible logo so far , wonderful job !
That’s really great performance!
I liked the concept, and the idea of Spreadshirt magnet set! It seems “old school” because it has the bauhaus element yet fun and modern, especially the typeface design, GREAT Work, and all the best.
Nice! I am missing the shirt message somewhere and do not like the font but the creativity and the message rock.
thx again everyone :).!The most important thing for a designer before to start their design is study and understand the client, i have been reading and analyzing Spreadshirt company for quite awhile before i proposed this idea. I think the most attractive and interesting point for Spreadshirt is not just only shirt. For my opinion shirt is just a media for Spreadshirt to send out their msg to everyone. The most attractive and interesting points for Spreadshirt are customizing, fun and creativity.
“The designers main enemy is boredom”- D.Laver. I challenged myself and twist the idea , base on these key words and avoided those direct messages, think out of box. Here is the result, i think building box can simple and effective to send out the same msg from Spreadshirt.
It is not easy to transfer an idea and visualise it to a logo. The challenge of this logo is balance and simplified it while keeping the idea of customizing.I Have been experiment it for quite awhile. The position of individual letter helps to support each other to make the logo balance and readable.
And the next thing is separating the two words “Spread” and “shirt” and make it readable too.Colour and space play the vry important part to separate both words, By using dark colour to make the “s” latter stand out from the rest. This technic allowed people to visual separated “Spread” and “shirt”.And the black colour part of “e”,”i” and”t” also allowed visually link all the black together to make this logo works and balance.
It’s a smart presentation of your idea. But the Typeface/Logotype looks kinda weird, not like a professional logo.
yeah, that’s what I like at it. It is very “edgy” and has a very high recognition rate I guess. The weak point is altough it’s very flexible it feels kind of very “offline” … (ie imagine you could also add big magnets to the bus advertisements, for example behind the glass — so the people could play around and build their own advertising-set - awwwww. wahnsinn!)
the downside: it is quite hard to read. And nothing for the first impression - I almost overlooked it when scrolling through all the entries.
And I like the “S” shape a lot, and could imagine this would be the icon .. but it feels the whole logo works only on a bigger size and it would need quite a big space ie on the website. but overall: an outstanding concept and an excellent vizualisation!
I like the concept a lot! Very creative work, I tryed something like this but u did it well with this concept. ^^
I agree with ami, it is hard to read (especially if it is smaller like on the poster)
But again, it is very creative and I’m impressed
I also agree with adam because for me this logo expresses me an Art of 80′. It is typical style and colour.
interesting idea- but i think, it’s hard to read for everyone.
the label should be readable, because the clients should know the name from the business.
it’s too complicate, i think.
Maybe it works better with a standalone Icon & an adapted typography?
For starters I think this is a great branding & identity, I couldn’t find flaws about it. Take an example like Coca-Cola its one of the most well known branding since who cares when? There were no design element on it that shows that its a drink, it just carried out a concept that when you see the branding, it just made you want to drink it like it quenches your thirst. Or even the flower shaped logo of BP (petrol). Okay enough said. What I like about your logo is that, the typography is really unique and it carries out your concept really well, when I see it I knew straight away that its Spread Shirt. Good idea that you have spread out the TWO S’S in black because it gives a good readability and also it sends out the short form of Spread Shirt? Secondly, GREAT concept and i could tell the amount of time and effort spent on the logo. A.W.E.S.O.M.E!! Love the flexibility and the idea that the shapes can stand alone and people would still know that its part of the identity. Personally, I kind of got tired of looking at the other contestants logo due to the same use of design element (no offense) but seriously getting out of hand. I’m really glad that someone really step out of the box. This is the best i’ve seen so far.
p/s: I would wanna buy that hoodie!!
Good Luck
i would say, it’s a gorgeous work as using the combination of the Tangram Puzzle concept .
it’s finely matching “u think it, we print it” , it’s forms the INFINITIES.
The “4 pieces” show the ability to transform a simple idea into multiple solutions,
simply geometric objects from the living environment easy link up with the public of wide age bracket n yet to stimualte the creativity of human.
It’s one of the most outstanding n different logo so far as there were lots of logos using the same icon (a shirt) or similarly presentation. bored enough. It’s just like a refreshant while u browsing others entries with a unconcerned-heart.
Is there any possibility to make the logo looked more readable and deepgoing impression? easy but fresh?
as said, if both work it out, it will be PERFECT!
Hey thx for the comments everyone!I have done some survey before i submit this logo,10 of 10 can read and recognized the label,. But from those comments i think i need to further devalope this logo to make it perfect. Can anybody quickly point out which alphabet is hard to read? I think it will helps me to work it out.
To be honest i still not happy with the logo design but for my idea is definitely reflected the idea from Spreadshirt.i am thinking of post up my logo working progress to show how can i get to this step.I think for doing this can protect my idea and logo itself.
It is hard to have both idea and visual at the same time. But once i work it out this will be a perfect logo to me.Graphic design is all about problem solving, isn’t?
yap, awaresome idea which is really impressive and creative. i like the attitude and effort you cariied. idea always is about observation, development, evolution and revolution, execution and definitely problem solving.
this idea really shown the expansion and the value further added. type been turned to be more flexible and playful by simplicity concept.in term of readability, although for someone may hard to reconize, but there wasnt any problem to me , and i think the curiousity will attract people to further understand it. keep it up..cheers. we love typo.
opp sorry, spelling mistake. /carried/recognize/
and, the “f” seem really out of shape cant not really strongly le people to visualize the “f”.
emm…u try to ne plyful and may be purposely flip as mirror effect. but as people point of view, may need consider flip to another side, make it look more like a “f”
alrite! thx for ur comment yen..it really helps me!
Well, i don’t think this one is working that good if you’ll not compress it. And it looks a bit too much as good old bauhaus, especially with the primary colors. Maybe you should use this font: http://www.slanted.de/node/671 ?
Hey this one is great i love the concept behind it i love the abstract art!! The jacket that has the logo adorned all over it is awsome i would wear that. The colors give you a clean look nice job!!!
yup thomas! thx for ur suggestion ,i am developing my logo now. I will make it good and more readable.New universal language visual board will upload soon.
Em…..Bauhaus art? i am not vry familiar with this artist. Is anybody can send me the URL? i want to know more abt him. Is my logo design similar to his art or? And thx Vchild ! i like the jacket too :P.
Let me introduce myself before kick out from OLP 1.6.Nice to see everybody around the world to share their design and idea in OLP1.6. Iam from All Blacks country. Graduated from wanganui school of design NZ last few months.
i am a junior motion graphic designer now, not much experience in print and logo design. This is my first international design competition,i vry surprised tht i got in to wk4 shortlist although my logo is not good enough.
Yeah! Thx for everyone who love my logo design i really appreciated those comments above!i will keep it up and i love design!
The most ambitious submition. Very inspiring and enjoyable. One of my favourite.
“r” looks too much like “f” - it makes it hard to read which is the weakest aspect of this wonderful project. Maybe try to make it a little bit more readable. But I still like it very much.
The idea asks for MORE!
YUP!thx Klos! Luv ur work too! thx for ur suggestion i adjusted the “r” alr.
yeah at first i thought hmmm..
but you know this is pritty cool
and a fresh change from the rinsed out “t shirt” icon in
90% of the versions out there..
Praise originality!
hai, the lastest version havent update yet? the”f” here wasnt like the lastest file i got which already been amended. much more nicer after amended those slight weakness. keep going on…love this work.
