A hand drawn type gives the logo a playful personality that is in keeping with the company’s business aim of personalized apparel. It is also less intimidating and more inviting for the non-designer/consumer to relate with such a logo. Because after all… what’s more fun than designing your own clothes? I’ve also created some fun icons related to clothing that could be placed with the logo or used as stand alone icons or buttons for the site. They could also be interchangeable.

lol I like those Icons a lot! ^^
Icons are really cute! I love this logo
i like the icons
Thanks for the comments. Too bad it didn’t make the shortlist. I was going to expand on this whole hand drawn idea and do some seasonal illustrations around logo such as pirate day or st. patricks day to show the flexibility of a hand drawn design. Also, more icons such as the checkout cart. But now i don’t know if i should start on a new one or develop this one since it might not be what they’re looking for.
Maybe if I get more feedback from Spreadshirt, then i will know. But thanks to those that liked it.
I think the logo itself is a little bit (too) hard to read and capture on the first impression, altough I think there is more potential to it (maybe skip the tag and work only on the typo .. like
spread
shirt
really separated.
and, of course the icons are king - everybody I’ve asked internally loved them -> definitely worth to work out these further. btw. my favourite is the button/favicon idea (hey, a real “button” .. thats funny too :))
