the idea of the @-shirt is interesting, but I think It doesn’t work well in this particular design.
I think the spiralling effect of the @ is lost, due to the square shape, and the little ring on top.
The second version with the paper-clip look seems more convincing to me.
have you tried inincreasing the momentum of the spiral by elongating the outer arm, possibly up to “your own label” ?
