I think you are onto something with the t-shirts here. A lot of the submissions have had one t-shirt in them, I think the key can be to have more. Had an idea of a stack of t-shirts, where you only see the top one. I wouldn’t choose this exact logo, but I think the multiple t-shirts are a good direction to follow.
