Invitation_combine

*Updated 02/09 - 2 new variants*

Your own label. A teamwork between you, the designer, and Spreadshirt. You are giving ideas and designs, Spreadshirt is giving the base, the opportunity and its support. In this logo execution two elements are approaching each other, combining to one and formulating a Tshirt-shape. On the other way around it can even suggest the “spreading”.
Invitation_combine

These Logos following my original concept of “INVITATION” - a blanked out logo inviting the viewer to fill the empty shirt.
This execution is another alternative as to the shape of the shirt, for the whole concept please review my original entry:
http://olp.spreadshirt.net/entries/2007/08/28/invitation/

Now, since the shirt is no more an obvious element but rather exciting I got rid of the asteriks that is no use in this execution.

New Variation: Heart

Your own label. You gonna work on your stuff with all your heart.
Let the people out there see your logo as a invitation. A invitation to be their own label and therefore doing their stuff wholeheartedly.

New Variation “Spreading”: This rather abstract shirt has a slightly liquid and therefore modern and futuristic feeling. The viewer can see the progress of reproduction and spreading your products in the large round element splitting and spreading out in two different direction. In my opinion it is not necessary to show a clear tshirt-shape since the word “shirt” will very quickly help understanding abstract shapes.

Looks great, I like the typo of tag line — so personel!

But I think purple makes it a little bit… too feminine

Quite honestly, i like your first (original) concept more - now that the shirt shape is not so obvious anymore, the symbol looks more like an abstract “V” or 2 combined lowercase “r” letters.
But i still think the cutout/negative space idea is nice.

Yeah i prefer the first one as well.

    Thanks for your comments guys!
Honestly I also prefer the first version, I really like the “Two-parts-combining-to-one” though. Someone just claimed the tshirt was too simple - although it is my concept to keep it simple so that the background/content is more exciting.
    Its just another option.

Purple is just a placeholder background - the background shall be randomly changing!

It’s not that the shirt was too simple, it was that it was simply just a illustated shirt ;)
I my opinion it’s a bit “in your face” to force a easy rocognizable shirt into a logo/or use it as a logo for a company, just because it works with shirts (…and already has that coverd in the companys name) - How many banks are out there with illustrated money in their logos? How many car manufacturers with illustrated cars? ;)

Allright Elwood, I see what you’re saying. You are definetly right. But since the company’s briefing clearly said the viewer has to directly see what the business is about, it is pretty tough to do a logo without a shirt, hm? ;) anyway, I still like it but at the same time also like to do a logo without a shirt. Lets see what Ideas may come to light. Thanks for your comment!

I know maybe you didn’t know, but it looks like the Teetonic logo http://www.teetonic.com/

    Pandahands:
Thanks man, thought it was a nice idea too, but…

    KLM:
…where do you guys only find all that similar logos? This one is really bad. That is too close what would not be that awful if it was another business, but also a tshirt company… OK, this does not work any more, what a bummer. Thanks for the hint!

Well Man, I’m sorry but it’s a well known competition website for Tshirt. I didn’t aim to blame you, very nice work though ;)

Its allright KLM, I did not take it as a blame. Thanks for the heads-up!
