Hello all. The motif in this logo is designed as such for four reasons:
1. It looks like a little man wearing a T-Shirt.
2. The negative space apes the ‘Design your own T-Shirt’ section of the spreadshirt site.
3. It also looks like a little tag with the hole at the top right for the string to pass through.
4. Turn it 45degrees and it looks like an ‘i’ emphasizing the personalisation.

After the comments received on my earlier post (Tagshirt, in cool blue) about the nature of the little square motif, I thought I’d post up the various iterations I discarded before settling on the final design.I still prefer the original, but if you prefer one of these please comment below or on the other.
1. Little man is straight, logo on a diamond, with t-shirt details added.
2. Straight up little man, but on a square.
3. T-Shirt details on original layout (square, coming in at an angle)
4. Straight up little man, with the backing shaped more like a label.
Comments etc, just let me know.

Updated 30/08: I’ve added a little string to the original, to emphasise the fact
that it’s supposed to be a tag. Hopefully this now says ‘your own label’ a
bit more.

Anyway, hope you like it. Critique and comments welcome.
Cheers, dazzler

I like it, but I am missint the neck indicated on the shirt
nice colors, nice design. but i didn’t notice the guy wearing the shirt myself, so maybe it would also be a possibility to turn him the right way?
Two good points, ta very much. I tried a little graphic to indicate the neck hole, but it looked a bit fussy – especially when shrunk. I tried to break it down into its simplest-yet-still-recognisable forms so it could be used really small or be plotted – perhaps I went too far…
I also tried turning the little chap up the right way, but it broke away from the little ‘clothing tag’ feel it has now with the circular hole in the top corner. And it somehow didn’t look, well, ‘dynamic’ enough…
Thanks for the input though. Keep ‘em coming…
Hey, I like it! Your font works great – straightforward, but unique and capturing. The light blue colour looks good, too (hello menu bar …). As for the logo image itself, it is simple enough and recognisable as well. Still, I cannot see the connection to “Your own label” so far.
Thanks very much. I’ve done a version with a little string through the circular hole in the tag which emphasises the ‘your own label’ – I’ll try to put it up shortly.
Incidentally, I know this is a bit off-topic, but I thought that if you printed up beermats with the square motif printed full-size on one side, students (and other drinkers) could use it as a scribbling page – sketching in their spreadshirt T-Shirt idea using the white space as a template. Not the most typical use of a logo, but a good way of advertising, perhaps.
Anyway, I’ll be quiet now…
Ah! There’s the one with string attached, uploaded to the bottom of the pile now.
Any further crits welcome, thanks.
Lol, the beer mat idea is pretty genius
I have to agree with adam, that’s a pretty cool idea.
This in general is one of the best ways to use a shirt in the logo yet.
Thanks for the kind words folks. Any favourites out of the versions above?
Cheers,
